FAQ

All you need to know for your next vacations

1

Why should I plan with The Traveling Gemini?

Your time is valuable. I’m offering you the ability to save your time by navigating today’s travel information for you.

2

How far in advance should I book a trip?

If your desire is to visit a popular destination and have specific dates in mind, you will need to book as early as possible. If you are planning a vacation during high travel dates like the Caribbean during Spring Break, Europe during the summer, or anywhere during the Christmas holidays, you will want to plan 6 month to a year in advance.

3

When is the latest I can start planning?

Last minute deals are strictly a gamble. To offer the best experience possible, I prefer to book travel 60 days prior to departure. There are exceptions. Your expectations will need to be managed as prices tend to increase an available tends to decrease the closer to your departure date. Please be aware - Airfare cannot be booked within 21 days of departure.

Do you charge a fee?

No. Yes. Maybe. There is an falsenassumption that using a Travel Agent is a more expensive way to book a trip. At TTG, we are most often paid a commission by the vacation suppliers, cruise lines, and others. This fee is already built into the cost of the trip. Whether you book through us, an online agency, like Expedia or through the supplier directly, the fee is paid out regardless. Why not book with us and get the best personalized service possible? There is no fee to request a quote. You may request one (1) free amendment to this quote to change dates, destinations, room accommodations, etc. However, for every amendment to the quote after that, there will be a $55 service fee. This fee is non-negotiable and nonrefundable. We do have a professional fee that applies to Destination Wedding or Group bookings. This fee covers the multitude of all the booking components as well as our consultations with you. If this fee applies to your trip, you will know before we start working with you.

Do I really need travel insurance?

Yes. Travel Insurance is available and highly recommended to protect your travel investment. Because sometimes... *You have to cancel a trip at the last-minute. Travel insurance can reimburse you for your prepaid, non-refundable trip costs — including vacation rentals, car rentals, hotels and flights — if you have to cancel for a covered reason. *Travel delays leave you stranded. Travel insurance can reimburse you for eligible meals, acommodation and transportation expenses during a covered delay. *You get sick or hurt when you're far from home. Travel insurance can reimburse you for care following a covered medical emergency while traveling. We can even arrange and pay for a medical evacuation if needed. *Fender-benders are unavoidable. Renting a car means taking on a big financial risk; even a tiny scrape can cost you hundreds. Low-priced rental car insurance lets you drive worry-free. *You need help in a hurry. Whether you're planning a week-long road trip or a weekend getaway, you never know what might happen. Travel insurance gives you access to our 24-Hour Assistance hotline for expert, personalized support in a crisis.

Can you book Airbnb or other rental houses?

I do not book Airbnb. There are too many horror stories of the host’s cancelling reservations at the las minute or pictures of the property not matching up with real life that make them unreliable. I will book only vacation rental homes through one of my trusted vendors.

7

Can I use points to book flights or hotels?

No. As a Travel Agent, I am unable to book using points. But I can help you earn them! One option, book your flight with points and I can help with accommodation (or visa versa) and any extras you desire. Let’s chat to find a solution together.
